Going for broke

I just received this article from Go for Broke Team Leader Ross for SU News which comes out in a couple of weeks. Go for Broke is paddling expedition on the Broke Intel in WA’s South West. When I read that he did this before showering I was impressed so here is some of what he said;

” ‘And the word was, the word is, and the word will be’. Go for Broke camp
2008 has just finished, and this article reflects on God’s work and some
fond memories from camp. Please consider the commitment of your author-
currently sitting at his computer still unshowered, still unshaved, still in
smelly clothes. These words must be written before the memory fades, and the
shower will always be waiting!

On Go for Broke we were blessed with transformed and refreshed lives ……

Some highlights from camp included the smelliness of the bus at the end of camp, the profusion of
salami, campers learning some basic life-preservation skills (cooking, for
example), jumping down sand dunes, beautiful weather, some rain to challenge
our resolve, and then the great gift of warm sun to dry wet gear on the last
afternoon. I might now go and enjoy a hot shower. Thanks to all the campers,
for all the things that make you different, and all the things that unite
you. Grace and Peace to you in abundance! And many thanks to Ross, Rob,
Tessa, Tess, Paul and Brad. “

Ross mentioned that the time the team spent sharing stories of how God works in the leaders lives and then encouraging campers to consider where God can work in theirs was where the team said they saw God at work on the program.
